About Us
Stand Up! is a diverse team of student community leaders, Society members and activists that have come together to try and restore power and trust to Deakin University students. We are regular students from all parts of the student body, and we are passionate about unionism, student rights, and activism. We have a plan for a better DUSA. Stand Up! believes in a student union that doesn’t just provide services and discounts. We want a DUSA that engages students in campaigns for their rights, a DUSA that looks after all demographics, and a DUSA that will create a thriving and lively student community. We want a democratic, open, and truly inclusive student union, that will genuinely campaign on behalf of students. Join us for a DUSA that delivers for you!

Why does stand up Exist?
Stand Up! Is known as a ticket (kind of like a party but on a student election level) running in this year's 2020 DUSA Annual Elections - This is to determine who will run your association as DUSA is ‘run for students by students’
The reason we exist is our team feels that DUSA could do more for the student community in ALL campuses at Deakin University especially for Geelong, Cloud and Warrnambool.
In 2019 DUSA made over 10mill way more than other Student associations and Unions across Victoria - Yet during that year many students didn’t get the same benefits as other universities such as free breakfast everyday instead once a week, A bar on campus and political freedoms, plus many many more.
DUSA’s finances and governance is also a mystery to students, many not realising the association is a separate entity from Deakin University. These are all things we would like to change and give back to the student community by implementing Transparency as one of our main goals.

Our mission is to build a dynamic and inclusive student community. To listen to students' concerns and represent their voices in Deakin University in ALL CAMPUSES and DUSA. We want to be more supportive to Societies and Clubs, DUSA’s volunteers and Deakin University students. Do more than provide students with a hoodie and backpack but also provide students with a safe community, a place they can turn too and not feel alone.
